Many consider winemaking to be an art — a form of self-expression by the winemaker, to be interpreted and enjoyed by the drinker — so for us, there is a natural connection between wine and visual art. Since our winery is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the natural wonders of our earth, we are partnering with artists who are like-minded in their commitment to our planet.
Nikolina Kovalenko is just such an artist and we are amped to be able to showcase her climate-focused art on our wines! Many of the most beautiful places in this world are under threat. Implicit in the celebration of their beauty is the recognition of their fragility.
Nikolina is interested in humanity’s diminishing connection with nature and strives to expose the consequences our everyday actions have on the environment. She works with fragile ecosystems, creating artwork inspired by locations specific to each project. Her art explores a range of subjects including global warming, deforestation, coral bleaching, and glacial retreat.
